For 15 years I have been helping people suffering chronic pain.

Chronic pain is pain that is classified as being persistent for longer than 3 months – but think of chronic pain more like pain or injury that doesn’t seem to recover.

It is really, really easy to get quite despondent when your pain never completely goes away.

Many people I have helped over the years are never really quite sure what is wrong in your body when you suffer from chronic pain, you try lots of things to help (physio, stretching, chiropractic, medication, heat packs etc) but nothing completely gets rid of the pain, and you don’t know what else you can and need to do to get the relief you want.

One of the things that can help you most when you suffer chronic pain is education. Would you believe in some studies pain education has been proven to help up to 1 in 2 people suffering from chronic pain! To put that in perspective medication helps up to 1 in 5 people with chronic pain, which means this study shows that education about what is causing your chronic pain and how to learn to cope with it can be more effective than medication.

In 2014 I wrote a simple book to help people suffering chronic pain. It has sold more than 1000 copies – mainly to patients of Scarborough Physio and Health.
