JOHN PREECE – REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPIST | MYOTHERAPIST (Adv Dip)                              | STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH

John is a dedicated Remedial Massage Therapist with a strong background in musculoskeletal therapy, rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning. Having recently completed his Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy, alongside his Diploma of Remedial Massage and Diploma of Sport Coaching, he brings a unique combination of clinical knowledge, hands-on experience and performance-based rehabilitation to Scarborough Physio & Health.

John’s professional journey has been diverse, spanning allied health, elite sport, and physically demanding trades. Before entering healthcare, he worked in plumbing, tree management, and warehouse operations, experiences that developed his strong work ethic and practical understanding of the physical demands many people place on their bodies every day. This background allows him to relate to a broad range of clients, from tradespeople and office workers to athletes and active individuals.
As a Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Redcliffe Dolphins pathway system, John has extensive experience in athlete assessment, injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance development, recovery strategies and load management. This performance background shapes the way he approaches treatment, focusing not only on relieving symptoms but also on improving movement quality, building resilience and helping clients return to the activities they enjoy.

John has a particular interest in:

  • Musculoskeletal dysfunction
  • Chronic and persistent pain
  • Sports injuries and rehabilitation
  • Nerve-related pain presentations
  • Movement dysfunction and biomechanics
  • Injury prevention and recovery
  • Performance enhancement and load management

His treatment approach is client-centred, evidence-informed, and focused on identifying the underlying drivers of pain and dysfunction rather than simply treating symptoms. He combines hands-on therapy with education and practical strategies to help clients achieve meaningful, long-term outcomes. This may include:

  • Remedial Massage Therapy
  • Dry Needling
  • Myofascial Cupping (Stationary and Sliding)
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Myofascial Release Techniques
  • Soft Tissue Therapy
  • Movement and Rehabilitation-Based Strategies

John believes that successful treatment goes beyond short-term pain relief. His goal is to help clients move better, recover effectively, build confidence in their bodies and improve their overall quality of life. Whether working with someone managing chronic pain, recovering from injury, dealing with the physical demands of work or striving to improve sporting performance, he takes an individualised approach tailored to each person’s goals and circumstances. This philosophy reflects the same evidence-based, musculoskeletal-focused approach that underpins his clinical work and writing.

Committed to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence, John continually expands his knowledge and skills to ensure clients receive current, evidence-informed care. He is passionate about helping people understand their bodies, take control of their recovery and achieve long-term health, movement, and performance outcomes.
