BEN LANGFORD- PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Ben Langford
Ben is a Welsh Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner (APP) from Cardiff with over 18 years of experience in hospital and private practices across New Zealand and the UK. His clinical expertise includes orthopaedics, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, acute sports and spinal injuries, sub-acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis, and exercise rehabilitation.
He was instrumental in creating the first orthopaedic triage pathway in Taranaki, New Zealand, and continues to coordinate departmental triage. Ben’s role involves advanced diagnostic assessment, interpretation of clinical findings, requesting and interpreting medical imaging, and formulating comprehensive treatment plans, in collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons, GPs, and other health professionals. His special interest within the pathway is the management of chronic joint pain for non-surgical clients which requires clear diagnosis and flexible treatment planning.
As a clinician he has a special interest in diagnosing and treating shoulder and neck pain through strength and conditioning principles and postural corrective exercises with a focus on delivering clear, evidence-based treatment plans for patients to return to full independent function. His practice blends diagnostic accuracy with long-term rehabilitation strategies and pain modulation therapy to help individuals achieve their health, fitness, and lifestyle goals.
Beyond work, he is passionate about surfing, trail running, weight training, and reading non-fiction, especially around health and the psychology of human performance. He balances professional life with family life as husband to Anna, a high school science teacher, and father to two active boys aged 7 and 12, both devoted to football, running, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
