South African Society of Physiotherapy Involvement
Mandy has been involved in various committees for the South African Society of Physiotherapy. She is the current National Course Co-ordinator for the Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy Group. She has been serving this term from 2016 and co-ordinates the Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy Course (previously the OMT course).
Previously she served as the Provincial Chairperson for the Pain Management Physiotherapy Group from 2014-2015 and the provincial representative for the PhysioFocus Group from 2012-2013
Postgraduate and CPD Courses
Mandy has a passion for teaching and has given a variety of lectures to qualified physiotherapists on a variety of subjects particularly on Pain Neurophysiology, Pain NeuroscienceEducationn and Communication.
Mandy completed the National Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapy Course course in 2011 and is busy with her National Pain Course as well as the Women’s Health Physiotherapy Course. She now supervises and lectures on the OMT Course.
Mandy has completed a number of postgraduate short courses in Women’s Pelvic Health (incontinence, pelvic pain, hypotonic pelvic floor and hypertonic pelvic floor), Pain (Chronic and Acute) and Communication, Upper and Lower Quarter Biomechanics, Shoulder, Elbow, Headaches and Whiplash, Dy Needling, Jaw Problems.
I have 2 beautiful children, Emma (born in March 2017) and Oliver (born in March 2019), who are my whole life and who, at the moment, take up most of my spare time. Before embarking on my journey into motherhood I competed in Triathlons, completing the Half-Ironman in Durban in 2015 and attempting the full Ironman in PE in 2016. I have taken part in many shorter distance triathlons, Amashova and over 10 Midmar Miles.
Mandy treats women and children for many conditions such as incontinence, pro-lapse, vaginal pain, sexual pain, pelvic pain and general pelvic health, constipation and much more.
